The client does that. There are 10 finalists and 1 winner.Back to top
Millions, depending on your currency and ability. It depends on the award level the client chooses. There are three: $4,950, $9,950 and $19,950. Winner is paid what's left after deduction of 20% and $900 (9x$100) for the finalists.Back to top
As many as you like. However, original and well-presented submissions tend to beat quantity.Back to top
In theory, yes. We do not want to vet ideas, but reserve the right to do so in cases where the material sent is incompatible to the brief or so clearly awful that the ‘subjective’ argument no longer holds.Back to top
There's a mandatory, easy-to-complete, one-page template per idea submission. Optional attachments are permissible to communicate dimensions, explain and sell your idea. Acceptable formats include .ppt, .pdf, .jpg, .mov, .doc, etc.Back to top
We offer our clients a money-back guarantee in the unlikely event that none of the creative submissions meets expectations. In such cases, a sum of $1,000 – which is withheld on each project – is equally divided among the top 10 idea generators.Back to top
Absolutely. We’re all for collaboration within Colossal Spark’s creative community. However, each submission must come from one human, with the resultant award money going to same. It is the responsibility of the creatives to split the spoils of victory on their own – even if it’s a hundred bucks.Back to top
They can. But they won't get ‘em. Asking creatives to refine ideas violates the Sacred Spirit of the Idea, upon which Colossal Spark was founded (after all, we’re not called Static Electricity). Once the client has selected a winning idea they may collaborate further with its author/s, or take it elsewhere. We are happy to introduce creative and client, with both parties’ consent.Back to top
That is up to the client. If you have the capability to develop it in part or completely, be sure to make this evident in your pitch. But clients, as owners of the winning idea for 18 months, are free to do whatever the hell they like with it. We will certainly do what we can to encourage clients to work with our members on development. Note that we proprietors of Colossal Spark do not handle production ourselves.Back to top
Not for everybody. There are 10 finalists and one winner, per challenge. Non-finalists receive no reward.Back to top
After the best ideas have been selected, the client owns the intellectual property rights to those ten submissions for 18 months. After that time, full rights revert back to the creators, who are free to license them back to the clients, if desired. The rights to all other submitted ideas remain with the creatives. See details in Rules & Regulations.Back to top
That depends on the number of submissions and the stopping power of your ideas. In order to not make Colossal Spark a conservatory of mediocrity, and to keep it worth your while, we’ve capped creative membership at 1,000. So far, we've seen a 3.1% participation rate with an average of 2.4 entries per person. So at this stage, your odds are fabulous.Back to top
Yes. By winning a challenge.Back to top

As of 02/20/2013, the breakdown was 90% in the USA, 3% in Canada, 7% somewhere else. Around 55% are employed at top 10 global agency networks, while the rest are independents or work in related industries.Back to top
